So today i had to try and fix something on my car. It wasnt fun at all, as it was hot here today, so i started the job only to realise i didnt have the right tools to complete it, so i went down to my local Supercheap Auto store and they had the tools i needed at a great price. So if you are looking for some tools at a great price and with staff more than helpful. you will have everything you need and much more.

Kawana Waters, Qld
Kawana Waters is a town located on the Sunshine Coast. About an hr from Brisbane. It is a coastel town with some of the nicest beaches there is. Kawana Waters is steadily growing in size now, with new estates being built connecting to the many rivers and canals that the coast has. With a new hospital being built, and many shops scattered around the area, you will always have something to do here.

Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast Qld
The Sunshine Coast has many great places to see, but today im gonna talk about Mooloolaba. It is a tourist hotspot drawing in many familys from QLD and other countries as well. So what makes it a tourist meca? well many things, first is the friendliness of the locals, that it is located near the beach. With a lifeguarded beach, suitable for the little ones. With many nice hotels scattered along the coastline offering great views, or for a relaxed approach it also offers many stores and coffee shops. All with views of the beach. So if you are looking for a getaway then this is the place for you.

The Lighthouse change-up
A few blogs ago i was talking about the lighthouse in Point Cartwright, well another lil fact is it wasnt the original lighthouse on the coastline. The original lighthouse was located in caloundra, 15km's away from Point Cartwright and still stands today, the reason is at the time the caloundra lighthouse was used as the beacon for ships letting them now they were close to the port in brisbane, but then the town of Caloundra had a boom and so as the buildings went up, the council folk believed that the lighthouse was no longer effective and decided that the location wasnt suitable and so they moved it to Point Cartwright.

its a little outside of my area..
Coolangatta is a little outside my area, about 2 hrs away, but i must let you know about it. It is Queenslands most southern coastal town, its also the gateway th the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales. Coolangatta is the perfect place for a family relaxing holiday with the choice of visting the Gold Coast being just minutes away.

The place i live
The sunshine coast, perfect one day great the next. well thats the motto though. To rally get down to it, yer it is perfect. We have for the most part heaps of coastland, so many beaches. Plus many coves where even the little kids can have a swim without fear of being dumped by large waves. Then on the other side we have mountains some of which you can climb. if you are feeling adventurous, with many small towns in between, offering a country feel. If you have been to the Sunshine Coast, or even the small towns surrounding on the coast, please let me know.

Alexandra headlands. sunshine coast
Sun, surf and fine dining..
The Alexandra Surf club located in Alexandra headlands. On the Sunshine coast. It is a proper surf club located by the beach, during the day you can eat and have the view of the beach while you eat. They have a great selection of food, as well as bars and a pokie room. They also so have a kids room where at selected moniters you can see into the kids room. Also for the skaters in mind, there is a skatepark located right next door. If you would like to add your own views please do. Anyone can add anything they want.

Its a fun time
Its hot, its muggy, then head to the pool. Cotton tree pool is the place to go, offering a full size 50m pool, a smaller heated pool which is under cover, there is also a pool dedicated to teaching the little ones to swim. it also has a pool for the littlies, featuring a big bucket dumper, and small waters spouts. Prices are great and cheap. So for a nice day relaxing by a pool, then Cotten tree is the place for you.

Its raining, the kids are going crazy, getting you frustrated because they are soo bored... Then the best place for you and your sanity is Chipmunks Playcenter, it caters for kids ages 3 and up. Offering place where kids can run wild in a safe and superviesed area. where you can relax and calm your nerves over a nice coffee, they also have a lunch menu rangeing from chicken nuggets, wedges and sandwichs fresh or toasted.

Sea world, Gold Coast, QLD
A day for the family..
This is a little out of my area, but i must recommend to you'se Sea world on the Gold Coast. it is a theme park based on marine animals, with dolphins and a dolphin show, seals, penguins, polar bears and shows. They also have a few rides that you can go on such as sea viper rollercoaster, helicopter fights, and a monorail, giving you a birds eye view over the whole complex. You also have the choice to stay at the Sea world resort, located right next door. They also have small stores for food as well as a resturant over looking the marina. So for a great day out or a great weekend then this is the place for you.

A great dining experiance.
The Nambour RSL has been updated and looks fantastic offering great service, great food, they have a new cafe for the coffee lovers, they also have a child centre, though it is unsupervised, It boasts a decent selection of pokies aswell as keno, plus a specialised area for the punters, plus there own bar. Membership is cheap, offering great discounts on food and selected drinks. For a great lunch or dinner then i recommend you visit the club.

A great day at the beach
Kawana beach is located in kawana on the Sunshine Coast, it is a long beach stretching from Point Cartwright all the way down past Caloundra, plenty of room to swim. In Point Cartwright you can walk up a small path which opens upto a lighthouse, offering a good view out to Mooloolaba all the way down to Caloundra, Down the bottom of point cartwright you can walk along the rocks, with many rock pools for the kids to explore.

Mount Coolum is a well known tourist attraction on the sunshine coast, with views looking over to coolum, yandina and up to noosa, it is truly a site to see, they have a walking track to the top for the adventurous ones, Below is a pic of the mountain and the views you will see.

Kenilworth, Mary Valley, Queensland
Kenilworth, Mary valley
Kenilworth is a a small town with a population of 300, it is a small community with a small town feel, It is located in the Mary Valley. a great scenic place with great views. It also has a river called the mary river, the river flows through Maleny, then through Conondale, Kenilworth, Gympie, Tiaro, Maryborough, and then flowing into the sea opposite Frazer Island. A few good places to visit in kenilworth are the kenilworth homestead, they offer horse riding, swimming, canoeing, gold paning, theres wildlife spotting and of course camping. In kenilworth there is also a cheese and yoghurt factory, offering tours which are wortha visit.
Another great place to visit is the Borumba deer park, its located 2kms below lake borumba and 16kms from kenilworth, it is a working deer park offering unique family enjoyment, Lake borumba is a camping grounds with a dam plus forestry tracks. Great for a weekend escape.
You may also want to experiance the fig tree walk, it is 4kms on Maleny-Kenilworth Rd at Litlle Yabba Ck. Its a short boardwalk walk through impressive rainforest with giant fig trees, the walk is 1.5km and is wheelchair friendly.

If you are looking for a nice way to have breakfast or lunch, or just looking to grab a nice coffee, then i recommend The offee Club in cotton tree. They have a great menu ranging from big brekkies to pancakes mmmm yum. Plus coffee of course. Prices are great and the atmosphere is excellant, also on a Sunday they have markets right next door, if your in the mood for a bit of shopping as well.

It also has a birch carrol and coyle offering 12 plus cinemas.

Whether you are looking to unwind, escape from the hustle and bustle of city life or just looking to a nice day out. Then mapleton falls is the place to go, you start out at a lookout, looking over the waterfall and out to the back of flaxton, be carefill though as it is very high up, but worth the view you get. Then you can walk down the path and take yourself of a trek through the forest, offering up 3 excellant paths, number one walk is a short 45 min walk, the number to walk is 1hr and 20mins, and the next is a big one, taking 3hrs to complete, but it is worth it. The forest is amazing, offering an excellant view into another life rarely seen, tall towering trees, the enclosing canopy, the ferns are all spectacular to see. To get there, head to nambour, take nambour-mapleton rd, then follow Mapleton Rd until it junctions with Obi Obi Rd. Follow the road until you come to a sign saying mapleton falls rd, take that and follow it to the end. Then you are there. Enjoy

Kondadilla falls is a great place to have a swim or a nature walk, with lush greenery, such as ferns, palm trees, and tall towering trees, it is great place to take some time off and get back to nature. The falls are a sight to behold, adn the lush forest around you is an experiance like no other.
Directions to get there are as follows,
From Brisbane, travel 54 kilometres north along the Bruce Highway, then follow the scenic Glass House Mountains Road 22 kilometres north to the Landsborough turnoff. Drive a further 20 kilometres to Montville and travel four kilometres north of the town. The park is signposted on the left. From the north, travel to Nambour, then head 15 kilometres west to Mapleton. Continue 10 kilometres towards Montville to the park turnoff on the right.
